'a midsummer night's dub'

The face above is Berkoy, running visuals at this, a midsummer event. This was the last of a series of collaborations between her and Irwin, an improvisational multi-instrumentalist from San Diego. As he programmed samples, then layered on theremin, then syncopated on electro-acoustic percussion, Berkoy swamped him in dappled organic richness. The clip is his last song, utilising the Sgt Pepper samples.

Berkoy stayed on to light Dub Trio, who were actually recording the show for their first album (on ROIR). Dub Trio live up to their name, sophisticatedly jazzing classic roots dub.The Pianos projector unfortunately gave out halfway though their set. The clip is from just before that happened.

And yes i have knocked up VCDs - Irwin, who had me excise a bit of noodling from his set, is VCD4781 (4, ), and Dub Trio is VCD4782 (9, ) You can get copies from the pinstand for $4 inc. mail ($5 foreign) - if interested email orders@pinstand.com saying what you want, and I'll let you know the process.
